Adopting a kitty from Whiskers...

You must be 21+ years old to adopt from Whiskers. If you are under 21, you will need a co-applicant over 21.

Although you are welcome to visit during our business hours of Wednesday through Sunday 1-4pm, you will not be able to handle, play with, put on hold or adopt unless you have an approved application on file! It is always best to get pre-approved! 

If you are a previous adopter, but it has been more than 6 months, you will need to re-apply so that our records are up-to-date. Previous adopters are, however, allowed to put a cat on hold until the new application is re-approved.

It is also highly recommended that you make an appointment once you are approved to adopt. Approved adopters with appointments always take priority over walk-ins.  Apply online, then once you are approved, we will contact you by email for an appointment to meet our available kitties.

If you do not see anything in a reasonable time frame (usually a few days to a week, not including weekends or holidays), check your spam folder.

1. Fill out the application as completely as possible and submit. Make sure that you have received a confirmation email that your application was submitted, in case you missed something.
2. Make sure that you give your vet reference(s), if you have them, permission to talk to us! Not doing so will halt your application processing.  
3. If you do not have a vet reference, we will email you to set up a ZOOM (cell phone app) interview with an adoption coordinator. PLEASE watch your email and respond ASAP!
4. Watch your email for any questions we may have about your application and/or approval status. Please respond by email as soon as possible to avoid your application being put on hold.
5. Once approved, respond to your adoption coordinator's email for an appointment to meet all of our available kitties. Any questions or concerns should be emailed to your assigned adoption coordinator .

NOTE: Young kitten photos are not listed individually online, they just come and go too quickly. Apply online for pre-approval, then we will contact you to make an appointment to meet all of our available cats and kittens!
